Job Description
Board Eligible/Board Certified hospitalist physician to join our dynamic and experienced team. The position is a 7 day block, starting on Saturdays. Weekend shifts are typical rounding positions while Monday to Friday is more admissions and triaging patients from the ED.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience as an attending hospitalist is strongly preferred but not required
- Experience with Epic EMR
- Willingness to participate in hospital committee work and quality improvement activities
Hospitalist Expectations
- Clinical responsibilities include admitting, consultative services for the specialities, attending to RRTs and Codes, cross-covering patients, and discharges.
- Practice efficiently and effectively in a collaborative, team-based environment
- Flexible and responsive to patient needs and unexpected staffing changes
- Work collaboratively with specialists, which involves pre-operative assessments and co-management of surgical patients
- Applicant will be competent in managing a broad spectrum of patient diagnosis
Minimum Qualifications:
- M.D. or D.O. licensed in the state of Connecticut.
- DEA license and CDS license
- Board certification (or eligibility within five years of employment) in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine. Verification of residency training is required.
- ACLS certification
- Complies with all hospital Medical Staff bylaws for maintenance of hospital privileges
